The star couple Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli got married in a private ceremony in Tuscany, Italy. The destination wedding was the most talked about event of the year 2017. The pictures that were released seemed to be straight out of a well-directed Bollywood movie. After the wedding, the couple announced their first reception in India would be in Delhi. The much-awaited fans were not only excited about the event but were also looking forward to knowing several details about the reception like the venue, the outfits that the celebrity couple would wear, the guests, etc. The wedding reception of Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli which took place in the Durbar Hall of the Taj Palace, New Delhi was a spectacular event and the shiny night had all the fans mesmerized.
Anushka Sharma decided to pick a red Banarasi Sabyasachi saree for the big event and Virat was seen wearing a black kurta along with a pashmina shawl. Together, they looked nothing less than royal. Just when people seemed to assume that “nothing can make the event better”, Taj Palace proved that it could, by providing an ambiance to the event that simply dialed the level of royalty and elegance in that night, a notch higher than before. The stage décor included a glass-studded palace along with white candles mounted on crystal fixtures and looked dreamy and surreal. This décor matched with the trousseau and sherwani that they had worn during their wedding in Italy.

Clearly, the level of thought that went into the venue arrangements was high, and seems like Virushka sure did achieve the vintage yet voguish backdrop that complemented their outfits so well and heightened the aesthetic value of the whole event, all thanks to the Taj Palace Hotel, New Delhi.
Since Delhi is Virat Kohli’s hometown, there were around 500 guests which included mostly family and a few friends as well. It doesn’t come as a surprise that they chose the Durbar Hall of the Taj Palace as their preferred venue cause the Durbar hall is one of Delhi’s largest conference and reception venues with a maximum capacity of 1000 guests.
Taj Palace also made sure that tight security was provided for the celebrities who attended the reception. The roads to the venue were completely blocked and entry was also restricted in the Taj Palace Hotel to ensure the highest level of security for the event. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also attended the reception to congratulate the couple. The list of guests at the reception apart from their families included the cricketers Suresh Raina, Gautham Gambhir and Shikhar Dhawan. There was also a live performance by the famous Punjabi singer Gurdas Maan who sang the song “Sajna ve sajna” and congratulated the couple as well as wished them “a long life”.
In a nutshell, the Virushka wedding reception was all that the fans had expected and much more as well. In general, aA lot of people contributed to the success of thean event starting from the outfit designers to the wedding planners to the venue managers. Here too, the Taj Palace hotel played their role well by creating the perfect setting that resonated with the style and preference of the couple and also made sure that all the arrangements were done for the event to go on smoothly so kudos to Taj Palace for that.
