Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are one of Bollywood’s most loved couple both on-screen and off-screen. They are known for their on-screen chemistry in the movies “Ram Leela” and “Bajirao Mastani” both of which were directed by Sanjay Leela Bansali. Though there were several rumors and speculations that they began dating when they were shooting for the movie “Ram Leela”, the couple officially never gave any confirmation and kept their relationship under the wraps.

In 2018, when Deepika and Alia joined Karan Johar in his show “Koffee with Karan”, Deepika revealed that there was a wedding coming up soon and this caused a lot of excitement among DeepVeer fans. Shortly after, the couple announced that they were getting married in Villa del Balbianello in Lake Como, Italy and this would be followed by three wedding receptions – one in The Leela Palace Bengaluru (Check out our blog on the Bengaluru wedding reception) and two in the Grand Hyatt, Mumbai (Check out our blog on the third wedding reception which they also called the ‘bow-tie’ reception here).

Before we delve into the details of their Mumbai reception let us have a look at some of the details of their dreamy and surreal destination wedding. The couple got married on November 14 and 15, 2018, in a Konkani ceremony followed by a Sindhi wedding ceremony. All the intricate details of the venue, food, arrangements were done meticulously.

The wedding theme was floral and to execute this perfectly, 12 florists were flown in from Florence to decorate the villa. The couple had arranged for special chefs to be flown in from Switzerland to Italy to bake the wedding cake and amazing deserts.

The Konkani wedding stretched for approximately 5 hours following which traditional South Indian food like dosa, rice etc. was served in banana leaves. After the Sindhi wedding ceremony on the next day, authentic Sindhi dishes like Koki, Dal Pakwan, Sev, rabdi etc were served to the guests.

After coming back to India, they hosted a wedding reception in The Grand Hyatt, Mumbai on November 28, 2018, for select journalists, industrialists and Ranveer’s extended family and the couple’s close friends. The arrangements for the wedding reception were in full swing at the venue and every minute detail was given a lot of importance by the hotel management to ensure that the event went well.

The venue was decorated with beautiful white flowers that not only went well with the celebrity’s outfits but also brought in a touch of the decorations at the couples Italian wedding. The staging area where the couple and guests would be photographed by the paparazzi was also decorated with white flowers. The background worked well with the DeepVeer outfit colours and created magical pics that captured royalty and charm in a single frame.

In this reception, the couple can be seen twinning in ivory and gold outfits designed by Abu Jani- Sandeep Khosla. Deepika looked gorgeous in her ivory chikankari lehenga along with a multi-tiered floral-style necklace from the same label that featured a blend of pearls, pristine white enamel and uncut diamonds set in gold.

Ranveer too looked amazing in his ivory and gold kurta that he had paired with white palazzo pants. There are very few couples who prefer light shades like white, off-white, ivory, etc for their wedding reception and our favourite couple not only chose to wear outfits of the same colour but also completely rocked the look.

The families of the bride and groom wore colour-coordinated outfits as well. Deepika Padukone’s parents – Prakash Padukone and Ujjala Padukone were dressed in white outfits designed by Abu Jani- Sandeep Khosla and her sister Anisha Padukone looked beautiful in white attire as well. On the other hand, Ranveer Singh’s family was dressed in black and looked stunning. The family pics taken with colour coordinated outfits worn by all members of the two families set in the backdrop of an elegant floral arrangement gives all of us some serious ‘let’s-create-amazing-family-photos’ goals!

Kudos to the Grand Hyatt for their amazing arrangements and efforts in making the reception a successful one because it is not easy for any venue to host two amazing wedding receptions (this reception was held on November 28 and the next one was held on December 1) with different themes in a short period and nail both the events perfectly unless it’s The Grand Hyatt, Mumbai.

Now that is what we call perfection personified! So, if that’s what you are looking for in a venue then book the Grand Hyatt right away for your special event!

The Grand reception hosted by the lovebirds was truly commendable and entertaining.
