Mukesh Ambani’s eldest son Akash Ambani got married to Shloka Mehta, daughter of diamantaire Russel Mehta, on 9 March 2019 at the Jio World Centre. The wedding was nothing short of a royal affair and it was celebrated on such a grand scale that even after 1 year it still has people talking about it and discussing the details of the wedding as well as swooning over the way décor, arrangements etc!
The entire venue was transformed into a floral paradise for the wedding! There were elaborate floral decorations and beautiful floral figurines of Lord Krishna, a horse, a peacock and elephants. The entrance to the venue where the celebrities posed for the paparazzi was also decorated in an elegant floral theme. The flower arrangement in the backdrop amidst the green grass, made the entire setting look regal and picturesque! The ‘baraat’ for the wedding began from the Trident Mumbai at 4.30. For the ‘baraat’, the Ambani family was dressed in shades of pink with Isha Ambani wearing a pale pink lehenga and Nita Ambani dressed in a heavily embroidered lehenga. The baraat was nothing short of a star-studded party as several Bollywood stars like Sharukh Khan, Karan Johar, Ranbir Kapoor etc grooved with the family and Mika Singh even performed!
The wedding ceremonies began at 7.30 pm at the Jio World Centre. The ‘mandap’ (a stage set for the marriage rituals) at the, was not only decorated with flowers but also had a background of water flowing through stairs and it gave the entire place an ethereal look! Akash Ambani looked handsome in a Sabyasachi sherwani and Shloka Mehta looked gorgeous in a red lehenga from the label Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. Shloka Mehta’s entry was comparable to the entry of a royal princess and left the entire audience awestruck!
There were around 1600 guests who attended Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta’s weddings. These guests included several A-listers from all fields of life attended the Ambani wedding on March 9, 2019. Celebrities from the film fraternity included Sharukh Khan, South Indian superstar Rajnikanth, Karan Johar, Abhishek Bachchan, Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Alia Bhat, Vidya Balan, Priyanka Chopra, Ranbir Kapoor, Ayan Mukherjee, Juhi Chawla, Kiara Advani, Farah Khan, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Sagarika Ghatge etc. Some of the celebrities from the cricket fraternity included Sachin Tendulkar, Hardik Pandya, Shane Band, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Yuvraj Singh. The guest list also included Sundar Pichai, Ratan Tata, Ban Ki-moon, Tony Blair, Satya Nadella, Coca-Cola CEO James Quincey, US Congressman Eric Cantor, Morgan Stanley banker Michael Grimes, etc.
