After getting engaged in July 2018 the star couple Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas decided to tie the knot in December. The couple put an end to all rumours and speculations of a wedding in the US by announcing their wedding venue as the Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur. The couple spent around Rs3-crore for the venue alone and booked it for the entire duration of their event which included pre-wedding celebrations like ‘Mehendi’ and ‘Sangeet’ followed by two wedding ceremonies, one following the Christian tradition and another a traditional Hindu wedding.
The pre-wedding ceremonies were to take place at the end of November, the Christian wedding ceremony was scheduled on December 1, 2018, and the date for the Hindu wedding ceremony was fixed as December 2, 2018. The management of the palace put in their best efforts to create the ambience that the couple desired for every wedding event and the ample space offered by the palace which spreads over 26 acres of land along with 15 acres of a well-maintained flourishing garden provided them with the flexibility to execute it well!

Ahead of the wedding ceremonies, the entire palace was lit up in purple lights to create the perfect ‘Shaadi ka mohaul’ (aka perfect atmosphere for the wedding). Among the 225 guests who attended the ceremonies at the Palace was the Ambani’s, Ralph Lauren, Hollywood stars like Dwayne Johnson, Lupita Nyong’o, Kelly Ripa etc along with the families of the couple which included Nick Jonas brother, Joe Jonas and Game-of-thrones actor Sophie Turner, Priyanka Chopra’s sister Parineeti Chopra, etc.
After the amazing ‘Mehendi’ function (Check out our blog on the Mehendi function here) where Priyanka Chopra looked stunning in a multi-hued lehenga along with heirloom ruby jewellery of the label Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, the next event that was lined up in the evening on November 29,2018, was the ‘Sangeet’ function.

The ‘sangeet’ night was a night of “unforgettable memories”, as Priyanka Chopra describes it. The stage that was set for the sangeet perfectly resonated with the mood of the night and it also had the iconic “NP” on a screen along with some purple lights. PeeCee and Nick made sure that they added their twist to the traditional ‘Sangeet’ ceremony to celebrate the amalgamation of two different cultures and also to respect each other’s background.
There were dance-off style performances that celebrated Nickyanka’s love story. Priyanka Chopra also performed a classical dance with her Mom Madhu Chopra for “Ram Chahe Leela” a song that PeeCee had performed for in the movie “Ram Leela”. Priyanka and Nick loved their sangeet night so much that they have decided to start a reality show that revolves around the theme of a sangeet based dance-off! Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas wore clothes from the label Khosla Jani. While Priyanka wore a hand-embroidered gold and silver sari, Nick complemented her well in a Navy Sherwani. In the pics, the couple can be seen beaming with happiness as they dance and watch their guest enjoy the night as well!
