Mehendi is a very important part of your wedding. There might not be enough brides who sincerely believe that their husbands will love them more if their mehendi is darker. However, they still seem to enjoy having complex, black mehendi. Why not, then? After all, it contributes just as significantly to improving your appearance on your wedding day. Check out these methods that will not disappoint you at all!
1. No Cream Before Mehendi
Before applying mehendi, always wash and towel dry your hands. Never apply lotion to them! This forms a barrier that prevents the mehendi from fading.

2. Apply Lemon And Sugar Water
Create a thick sugar syrup, then spread the gooey concoction over the mehendi with a half-cut lemon. This makes it stay on your skin longer and prevents it from coming off. Applying too much lemon will cause it to bleach, so be careful.
3. Apply Oil
Recall the aroma of “Nilgiri oil” that permeates the space as you apply mehendi. Nilgiri or eucalyptus oil is a necessary component of the mehendi you apply, but you can also apply it on your hands beforehand to make it darker.
4. Keep Your Mehendi Overnight
After a 4-6 hour mehendi application, most brides become exhausted and tend to scrape it off quickly. Keep it for the night, and your perseverance will be rewarded in colour!

5. Apply Balm
After you have completely removed all of your mehendi, apply tiger balm or even Vicks VapoRub. Your hands will develop a barrier as a result, and it will repel water even if you dip them in it. Additionally, the menthol in it will enable the mehendi’s colour to darken.
6. Clove Steam Will Help
Take a few cloves and toast them on a flat pan or tawa. Once the mehendi has been removed, hold your hands over them and let the aroma of the cloves warm them. Repeat this a few times or until you can withstand the heat.
7. Mustard Oil
Rub your palms together after applying a few drops of mustard oil if you are allergic to the menthol in the balms. This aids in keeping and deepening the colour of the mehendi.
8. Don’t Wash Your Hands
After doing every desi nuskha, one thing you must do is refrain from touching the water with your hands (at least for a day). Henna’s colour won’t penetrate your skin if you’re in the water. So, wherever possible, avoid it.

9. Say No To Waxing
Before getting your palms painted with henna, it is advisable to complete all beauty procedures like shaving, waxing, or body polishing because these procedures may brush off the top layer of your mehendi, giving it a faded appearance. Therefore, it is best to prioritise these tasks and do them two to three days in advance.
10. Wrap Your Mehendi
Wrap the henna in some cling film or a thin plastic sheet once it has dried and become flaky. To cover your henna designs, you can also use gloves and stockings.
These methods for darkening your mehendi are used from the very beginning and are very useful. They give good results and are not harmful to your skin. Try these out and make your mehendi colour look beautiful, dark and the talk of the town!
