How do I begin? What should I concentrate on? What food should we eat? How can I ensure that the celebration is enjoyable?  These thoughts have probably crossed your mind more than once, as we all know. So, we have some ideas to jotted down for you!

Pick a Theme Or Not

Picking a theme has become a redundant practice. Rather keep it casual and let you and your guests chill out during the party. Not all elements of the party need to be tied together. You could have a theme for food or decor and not for other things.

However if you do decide on a theme make it personalised. Think about the person who’s birthday you are celebrating and their favs and then set up a theme. If that person love K-dramas then make your theme about their favourite drama.

Assemble The Masterchefs

  • Divide the guests into teams and start an in-house masterchef battle.
  • Set up cooking stations for each team with all the necessary equipment and ingredients.
  • Give them a set amount of time to cook and prepare their dishes. You can provide them with recipes or let them be creative and come up with their own recipes.
  • Once the time is up, get ready to be snarky and judge the dishes.
  • Award prizes should be something quirky like coupons to let anyone pay their food delivery bills for the rest of the year.

Remember it’s all for fun, so please don’t rely on your friends for the real food!?

Bring It Back to 90’s

Take cue from the episode of Modern Family where they celebrated Luke’s birthday at home. Well you can be Claire of the group and encourage your friends to do the good old day activities. Musical chairs, making some beaded jewellery, ringa ringa roses, and lighten up the mood with good ol’ nostalgia!

Create a Photo Booth

A photo booth is a great way to capture memories from the party. You can set up a backdrop and provide props such as hats, glasses, and moustaches. Guests can take turns taking pictures in front of the backdrop, and you can print out the photos to give as party favours.

Serve a Signature Cocktail or Mocktail

A signature cocktail or mocktail can add an extra element of fun to the party. You can create a drink based on the party theme or the person’s favourite flavours. And please be sure to provide non-alcoholic options for guests who don’t drink.

Planning a birthday party at home can be a fun and unique way to celebrate a special occasion. By following these tips, you can create a party that’s both memorable and enjoyable for everyone involved. Remember to have fun and enjoy the celebration!
