  • CLEANSING:  “Isn’t it obvious?” we know. But what’s not obvious is that you have to cleanse your face every night and in the morning for a week straight before your wedding or any event. You don’t know what your skin and hormones have planned for you so it’s better to start working on it early.

Wash your face with a gentle cleanser that’ll not only deep clean your pores, but also leave you with an iridescent glow. You can check out the following gentle cleanser: Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser for Dry to normal, sensitive skin

  • TONING:  A Lot of people tend to miss this step and often think it’s not as important as the other steps such as cleansing and moisturizing whereas toning is as important as anything else.

Toning will help you unclog the pores and double-cleanse your face. It removes any leftover impurities from your skin while balancing the pH levels and preps your skin for the next step.

  • MOISTURIZING: As basic as it sounds, it’s a very important part when it comes to skincare.

If your skin is dry you can use a lightweight moisturizer for the day but you should coat your face with a thick moisturizer at night for extreme nourishment.

Whereas, if your face is on the oiler side, you can go for a light or gel-based moisturizer for both night and day.

2. Overall Diet & Health

  • HEALTHY DIET: We know how tempting street food and fast food can sometimes be, but for good skin on your wedding day.

Try including green vegetables and fruits in your diet. And try to avoid processed food as much as you can. Have a balanced diet at least a month before your wedding. You can see results very quickly, this way you’ll not only have glowing skin but also have great physical and mental health.

  • ENOUGH WATER INTAKE: This may sound very obvious but sometimes we forget to hydrate ourselves often in our busy lives. A good amount of water intake can heal a lot of problems in our body and works like a wonder for the skin.

You must make a habit of drinking at least 2-3 liters of water every day (which means frequent bathroom visits), so your face will glow and shine on your wedding day. You can buy yourself a water bottle to keep track of the amount of water you drink and also remind yourself to drink enough water.

  • BEAUTY SLEEP: Beauty sleep itself clears how important sleep is for your beauty. We know it can be tough to get a total of 8-10 hours of sleep every night with all the events and preparations going on for your wedding, but you can at least try and get 7-8 hours of sleep every night.

We all hate eye bags, don’t we? So why not make sleep our best companion at least a month before your big day, you shouldn’t compromise on it at any cost.

3. WEEKLY CARE

  • FACE PACK:  Makeup only hides the pigmentation and dullness, if you want healthy glowing skin, you can apply a nice face mask once or twice every week according to your skin type.

Although there are tons of packaged face masks available in the market, we suggest making one at home with some ingredients easily available in your kitchen

  • EXFOLIATE: Not just before your big day or any event but you should exfoliate your skin every week. It helps if your skin is looking a little down and dull.

If you ask us, the best day to exfoliate and do all the face masks and stuff has to be the weekend so that you spend more time working on your skin.

  • SHEET MASK: A good sheet mask will nourish your skin, beyond what a moisturizer will do. We suggest you go for a sheet mask which will hydrate your skin and help nourish it from within.

If you’re experiencing any acne or inflammation, there are sheet masks available for those as well.

Your wedding day is one of the most special days of your life and you should take care of yourself to look perfect both physically and mentally. Pre-wedding skin care starts from your home, getting facials and messages is great but something we can’t get very frequently months prior to your wedding so it’s best to do things yourself. From having a solid day and night skin care regimen to making face packs with ingredients available in your kitchen, everything you do would contribute to good skin on your wedding day.

We hope this article helps you create a smooth and shiny canvas for the makeup artist on your wedding day.
