When a girl plans her wedding, she makes sure that everything is perfect, from her outfit to the decoration to the song playlist and dance steps; literally everything. And why not? It’s her wedding, the one and only time where she’ll be the center of attraction of hundreds of guests, and her husband as well.

The bridal entrance is the most important part of any wedding ceremony. She has been preparing for this day for months now and is now decked up for the ceremony. Shouldn’t she make a grand entrance?
Most modern brides are now ditching the traditional way and trying out new ideas. We’ve seen extravagant chariots, boat entries, scooter entries, rose petal shower entry, dancing entry….the list is truly very long. All these new twists give a fun element to the ceremony and also something to talk about for months to come.

Have you thought of one yet? No? Worry not, we’re here to help you out. Here some ideas that you can use to make a hatke entrance at your wedding.
1. Enter with your family
When I say family, I mean your parents, siblings, your favorite uncle or cousin. Making an entry with a family member gives a symbolic meaning as the member is giving away their daughter or niece to the guy who will vow to love and take care of her for the rest of his life.
2. Enter with your gang
Another creative way to enter with a twist is to make your girl gang lead the procession. Be it holding the chadar or dancing on the aisle, there is no one better than your girls to make a statement entrance.
3. Enter on a two-wheeler
Your entry can be the talk of the town (or your entended family!) for months to come if make an entrance riding a bike or a scooter. Why walk when you can ride your vehicle? This is an extremely modern trend and is very much liked by everyone.
4. Enter on a four-wheeler
What’s better than a two-wheeler? A four-wheeler!!! Be it a vintage car, a golf cart, or an ATV, make an impressive entry because why should boys have all the fun?!
5. Enter riding on a boat
If your wedding venue is beside a water body, make a style statement by riding on a boat and making an elegant entrance to the wedding venue.
6. Enter amidst fireworks
Firework has been an integral part of any festival, function, or celebration in the Indian culture. So using fireworks also becomes essential if you want to make an entrance with a bang. Just like the groom’s baraat that announces its entrance by bursting crackers, why don’t you also follow the same for yourself?
7. Enter with a phoolon ki chaadar
Phoolon ki chaadar is the name given for the cover that the cousins, or brothers, or friends carry over the bride when she walks on the aisle. This cover is not only made of flowers but can be decorated with mini versions of the kaleere the bride is wearing, fairy lights or it can be a simple but elegant printed stretch of cloth. This form of entry is not only traditional but the slight twist gives it a modern touch.
8. Enter with decorative umbrellas
A variation to the above, the cousins, or brothers, or friends carry colorful umbrellas or paper parasols with them. This is a very modern spin on a traditional custom.
9. Enter in a doli or an extravagant rath
Doli is yet another traditional custom of the Indian culture. It is was generally used during the bidai, but now it is being used to make a splendid entrance. The huge rath that is decorated with flowers or drapes or tassels makes you feel nothing less than a queen.
10. Enter with a dance
There’s nothing much to explain here, just dance your way to the stage with your besties.
11. Enter Solo
If nothing suits your boat, enter solo. There’s just nothing better than making a bold entry than entering on your own.
These are some of the most followed trends that we have seen in recent years.
However, this is not the end of it. There are many new styles coming up and making headlines within the bridal fraternity.
Here is a small list of such new ideas
1. Entering with balloons
2. Entering with dancers
3. Entering with kids holding a placard announcing your arrival
4. Entering with a flower shower
5. Entering riding in a rickshaw
So go ahead, make a bold entry and set a trend for future generations. Give a twist to the traditional customs but make sure not to hurt the sentiments of your elders because it is our customs that make our culture unique.
We @VenueMonk will be waiting for your comments on which idea will you be using for your entry or if any idea inspired you to give a trendy spin of your own.
