Someone has rightly said, “Once in awhile, right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale.” and what a fairy tale wedding it was for Avi and Nikhar. There’s was a wedding to be seen as it was a perfect example of how one can blend tradition with modern ideas.
Avi and Nikhar
MEET THE COUPLE

Mehandi Ceremony
Their celebrations started with the mehandi ritual, which was planned by Shadi Crew by Jamine Sehgal. The bride wore an indigo leheriya lehenga with an embellished snug high waist paired with a sequined and beadwork blouse. This wonderful unique outfit was the product of Papa Don’t Preach by Shubhika. Letting her hair down along with beaded earring and light pink makeup, Nikhar looked like an Indian mermaid. The groom, Avi, was not behind in his color palette selection and wore a dark blue kurta, with white lower and a velvet navy blue closed collar coat.
The wonderful mehendi design was applied by Raju Mehendi Wala and the designed suited the occassion perfectly.
Haldi Ceremony
For the haldi ritual, which was again planned by Shadi Crew by Jamine Sehgal, the team did an excellent job of decorating the venue. The yellowness of the turmeric and bride’s saree was wonderfully contrasted by the red, pink and green decorations.
The bride wore a yellow and pink saree which was draped in traditional Maharashtrian style. Her jewellery also reflected the Maharashtrian touch with the delicate nose pin and neck piece. The rest of her ‘jewelry’ was made up of flowers such as her bangles, payal and cummerbund and the kaleere brought together her entire look.
The bride’s quirky yet fun-loving nature was expertly captured by Studio Kelly Photography. Nikhar showed the perfect blend of traditional with moderness.
Wedding Ceremony
The wedding day was a very grand affair and it felt as if it was taken over by the kingdom of flowers in the Imperial Hotel in Janpath, New Delhi. The bride wore Sabyasachi’s famous Dil Guldasta lehenga, which was originally worn by Deepika Padukone. This pink and red lehenga truly resembles a bouquet of flowers. This ensemble was paired with a beautiful maroon choker and another long necklace consisting of emerald, along with a head jewellery, earrings and nath. Her makeup, which consisted of dark eye shadow, expertly contoured cheekbones and matching lipstick, was done by the team of House of Beauty by Sahil Malhotra.
The groom looked equally dashing in Sabyasachi’s fucshia pink sherwani which came with silver buttons and he paired it with green necklace, stoll, off-white churidar and beige pagdi.
The Studio Kelly Photography team again were successful in capturing the bride’s personality and the rituals of the wedding to the tee.
Wedding Reception
For their reception, they transformed the A Dot Club Xs into a different world.
Here, the newly wedded bride a very modern silver dress with the blouse containing peacock feather-like patchwork by Amit Aggarwal. The light makeup was done by Tantrums By Ratika Vaish complimented her dress. The groom also wore a silver suit coat, with a silver bowtie, white shirt and white pants designed by Gaurav Gupta.
Looking every bit modern and sophisticated, the celebrations ended with them getting everyone’s blessing for a happy married life. We also wish the couple a blissfully happy married life.
