Actor duo Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal are one of the cutest pairs in Bollywood. Having dated for more than seven years now, we have seen them be each other’s biggest cheerleaders, share the big screen and give us #couplegoals on Instagram. Now, finally, after the pandemic delayed their plans of getting hitched, Chadha and Fazal are finally married. While the wedding took place in Lucknow, their pre-wedding festivities kickstarted in Delhi and we have all the exclusive deets. Scroll below to find out everything we know!
Mehendi & Haldi Ceremony
While the wedding occurred in Mumbai, Richa and Ali’s pre-wedding festivities took place in the capital city, Delhi. For the Mehendi and Haldi function, Richa Chadha wore a stunning Rahul Mishra embroidered ‘Parizaad’ lehenga in the old rose hue along with the 3D hand embroidered ‘Medinilla off-shoulder crop top and a coordinating, hand embroidered silk organza dupatta. With her stupendous lehenga, Chadha paired a diamond choker set and matching earrings. She went with light makeup and blown-out waves for the hairdo.
While Richa Chadha glowed in pink, the dapper groom Ali Fazal donned an ivory white angrakha created by designer duo Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. Ali and Richa went for a dry haldi by opting for flowers. The celebration was full of love and laughter with the duo’s nearest and dearest ones being present for their Mehendi and Haldi functions. One can tell just how happy the duo is after seeing this function’s photos
Cocktail Function
Next was their cocktail function where Richa Chadha wore a drop-dead gorgeous golden saree by designer Kresha Bajaj. She opted for a messy ponytail and a stunning gold set. On the other hand, Ali Fazal complimented the to-be bride by donning a royal sherwani designed by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla.
The Nikaah Ceremony
Finally, celebrating their pre-wedding functions in Delhi, the duo went to Lucknow and had a Nikaah amongst their nearest and dearest ones. For her nuptials, Richa Chadha wore a classic off-white Chikankari Kurti with a heavily embroidered yoke and borders. Worn with a net dupatta exquisitely accented with Swarovski crystals in an all-over pattern along with a trail. Chadha opted for polki and pearl jewelry to compliment her overall look.
While Richa Chadha stunned us in an off-white sharara by designer duo Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla, Ali Fazal also opted for Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla’s creation. He went with a muted gold beige slit long tussar silk sherwani with impeccably detailed Resham hand embroidery. A dash of gold at the hem gives the look a distinctly dramatic edge.
Bollywood Star-Studded Reception Party
The Mumbai reception was a star-studded vent where the guests had a gala time grooving to all-time hit Bollywood tracks that were remixed by DJ Ganesh. The bride looked stunning in a boho gown while Ali looked dapper in a wide-shouldered indo-western sherwani. Songs from Ali’s movie ‘Fukrey’ were played all night long along with hit tracks from Sanya Dutt’s movies. For the couple, DJ Ganesh exclusively crafted a remix of the song Ambarsariya from Fukrey which made the couple nostalgic. This was also fused with hip-hop and RnB music – which is Ali’s favorite genre. The groom was on the dance floor till the last hours of the celebration and was joined there by Fukrey co-stars Pulkit Samrat and Varun Sharma
Quirky Wedding Invites
We also came across their wedding invites which are too cute to handle. Bollywood sweetheart Richa & Ali’s Save the date was all about celebrating being an 80’s kid and taking inspiration from Vintage Indian poster art.
“Ali & Richa are a lovely playful couple and hence we wanted to design something that is reflective of their earthy and fun personality. And there is no better way to represent them than a vintage Bollywood style poster,” said Puneet Gupta, Founder, of Puneet Gupta Invitations.
Going all vivid for their invites the Sangeet Invite featured a handpainted play of vibrant watercolor florals and bold botanicals. Pristine lilies, soft poppies, blooming calendulas, gallic roses, vintage snapdragons, and other wildflowers form a beautiful escape into the gateway of love of Ali Fazal & Richa. The brick arch gives a gauzy inkling of the wedding venue and the dreamy decor.
The stunning wedding photos of the couple have left us in awe. We were eagerly waiting for this moment and now we congratulate the newlywed couple with lots of love.
