1. An excellent wedding planner is highly expensive to hire.

Although hiring a wedding planner may appear pricey and overly westernized, it is really growing in popularity. Because they have the necessary connections and resources to complete the job, hiring experienced planners help you save money. You only need to let them know your wedding budget. As opposed to your parents, uncles, and aunts, a team of trained specialists can complete the task more quickly and effectively. Your family will experience less stress and waste less valuable time. Additionally, your wedding will be flawlessly arranged and under budget.

Many wedding planners offer customized quotes for their services rather than flat pricing for all couples, and by doing so, they can help ease your workload and your financial situation, and a better understanding of and relationship with vendors, which may ultimately result in you saving time and money by not having to run around as often.

2. It is best to book an inexpensive caterer because they are all the same.

Every wedding has a budget, but going beyond without one is a formula for catastrophe. You need to be aware of your spending limit even if all you want to do is spend as “little” as possible. The creation of expectations for your wedding and vendors is assisted by having a budget.

Even if you spend a fortune on floral arrangements or acquire exotic china for your wedding, guests will only remember the food served there. It doesn’t necessarily mean that the catered cuisine at all weddings tastes the same just because you can’t tell the difference between the food at different venues. Pay close attention to selecting good wedding caterers to serve mouthwatering meals to your guests.

3. DIY projects reduce costs

DIY wedding crafts give it a unique, personalized touch. But avoid the error of starting any tasks like the need for you to manufacture all the wedding invitations or something is equally laborious and expensive (imagine – buying all the stuff for the DIY). You will have to spend a lot of money on supplies, and you will waste valuable time that you could have spent on wedding preparations. This will just increase the cost of your wedding.

Not to argue that DIY is bad, but there are definitely some tasks that DIYers find easier (and more intelligent). However, doing things yourself frequently ends up costing exactly as much as buying something or hiring someone not to mention the time it takes! If anything, choosing to do something yourself should be properly thought out and planned; it shouldn’t be done just because it’s less expensive.

4. Weddings held throughout the week are less expensive.

Although wedding season and weekends can result in overbooking at wedding venues, the prices they offer you often don’t change. Regardless of the day or the time, the prices remain constant. Although hotels and banquets do provide happy hours for food and beverages, these happy hours do not apply to wedding reservations.

5. Perhaps you should get a wedding loan.

This topic is particularly important. To get your child married, you don’t always need to take out a loan or mortgage on your home. It’s merely a widespread misconception that has to be dispelled. If you get down with your family and decide on a budget in advance for the wedding, you can have the desired extras for that sum as long as you adhere to it strictly. Yes, some small budget loans can be taken that can be recovered over short periods of time but going for home mortgages or jewelry mortgages don’t usually benefit over the long period.

6. Destination weddings will cost you less than compared to at home weddings

So, here’s the fact – destination weddings even when planned keeping a small and intimate gathering along with a properly planned venue will have it’s own standard cost and it nowhere means that it will cost anywhere less than when you plan a wedding at home. Destination weddings with their travel plus accommodation cost levels up the wedding budget which normally doesn’t occur during at home weddings. You can definitely have a set budget for your destination wedding but that nowhere guarantees that an at home wedding would be more expensive.

7. Backyard weddings will cost less

This is a totally busted myth and we’ll tell you how. First of all, with all the decoration and lighting cost, even the tent cost for the mandap or the overall wedding decoration, including the tent for catering and everything will have its own set of additional costs and those two would require décor and lighting apart from the general ones. Not to mention, the cost for tables and chairs and the linen cloth that goes over those. These hassles are show a clear picture that considering backyard weddings as anything close to cheap is a total myth!
