Netflix’s new miniseries, “The Big Day”, depicts six couples of Indian descent as they plan and execute their weddings. Instead of offering a nuanced view of the difficulties and variations in the couples’ planning processes, it plays right into this stereotypical ideal; indeed, that is its downfall. In the second part of ‘The Big Day,’ we saw these real brides don the most unique outfits and colors on their wedding functions which is why it became so much easier for us to imagine and identify what trend can work for what kind of real bride. Introducing real bride Prerna’s stunning mint green wedding lehenga with beautiful zari work, embroidery, and subtle hints of embellishments. Nikhita’s wedding lehenga is one of the drool-worthy outfits from the Netflix series because of so many reasons like how the silhouette is apt, the print is unique and the overall outfit will look absolutely stunning. Gayeti was another bride who had a super grand wedding. We loved how decisive she was with her decisions be it for the decor, food, or the wedding outfits. As soon as we laid eyes on her Tarun Tahiliani red and pink wedding lehenga, our heartbeats got fast. The lehenga was nothing like we’ve seen before which is why we knew we had to have it on our list so that all you ladies can bookmark this surreal outfit.
Shrutika’s Wedding Outfits
We saw a good number of pink outfits on Shrutika at many of her wedding functions and we think that she made the right call as her wedding lehenga was the real masterpiece. A traditional pink, Shrutika looked breathtaking. We also couldn’t get over her subtle but statement-making eye makeup complemented her bridal look. This wedding is rather perfect for brides who want to look traditional but don’t want to don a red lehenga.
