“Two souls with but a single thought, two hearts beat as one”
In a culture-driven society like India, weddings serve as the union of not only two souls, but also two families. Over the years, weddings have become an elaborate affair wherein the wedding day is preceded by a bunch of other festivities.
The wedding ceremony and other festivities were a dream-come-true for Bani and Rahul. Family and friends of the newlyweds got together to celebrate their union and blessed them as they stepped into a new life.
BANI AND RAHUL
MEET THE COUPLE
Jaggo Ceremony
A Punjabi pre-wedding affair, the jaggo ceremony includes singing and dancing with family and friends. The location for the Jaggo ceremony had been beautifully decorated. The location was decked with beautiful marigold flowers arranged in exquisite patterns and arrangements. Bani was dressed in a vibrant yellow lehenga, designed by the leading Indian designer, Sabyasachi, which went really well with the theme of the whole event. Prerna Khullar was the make-up artist behind Bani’s gorgeous makeup for the ceremony.
The whole evening was filled with picture-perfect moments, thanks to the beautiful decorations and overall ambience of the venue.
Mehendi Ceremony
Across Indian weddings, the Mehendi ceremony starts with the arrival of Mehendi from the groom’s side for the bride. During the ceremony, the to-be-bride’s hands and feet are beautified with the rich, dark hue of the Mehendi paste.
Bani’s hands were adorned with very unconventional yet intricate designs. The love for cricket was beautifully expressed through the Mehendi design. It is a common tradition to hide the initials/name of to-be-husband on the Mehendi adorned hands. Bani’s outfit was absolutely perfect for the occasion and made for some really great pictures.
The Wedding
The wedding ceremony took place in the grand setting of Haveli Empress Raj Mahal. The venue was beautifully decorated to celebrate the union of Bani and Rahul. The wedding was a majestic affair. Bani wore a gorgeous peach Anarkali suit by Tarun Tahilani and was decked up in Tanishq jewellery. Joban Sandhu, the artist behind Kohl Eyes by Jo, made Bani look absolutely jaw-droppingly beautiful for her special day. The wedding was an emotional rollercoaster as the newlyweds embarked on their new journey together.
The Reception
The reception party was held in the opulent ambiance of Maharaja Grand. The elegant decor was the brainchild of the team at Ferns and Petals India. Finally, all the guests could let their guards down and unwind after all the formal rituals and ceremonies. The bride, in her Anamika Khanna’s pink lehenga, looked absolutely stunning. Prerna Khullar was the bride’s choice for make-up and hair. The reception marked an end to the dreamlike celebrations that took place over the past couple of days.
The euphoric wedding celebrations served as a prelude to the great adventures that Bani and Rahul’s married life has in store for them.
