Actress Ashwathy Warrier, who was seen in films such as Neethane En Ponvasantham and Maan Karate, got hitched to beau Abhilash Panicker, in the most innovative, quirky, and liveliest wedding one could have ever imagined. The adorable duo tied the knot on 6th December 2017 at Le Meridian Cochin, and for the grand wedding reception, they opted for MRC Chennai and it was a stunning riot of colors, visionary lights along with some ecstatic music to dance their heart away.
Maintaining both tradition and modernity, the gorgeous wanted everything to be perfect. They decided to go for a North-Indian themed event with a lot of red, gold, and cream elements. The decorators turned MRC, Chennai into a beautiful venue with a grand ambiance! The decorators worked very hard with all the arrangements and turned the venue into an absolute paradise. The ethereal decor was finalized by Mehak Decorations which is the Chennai based decor company. Ashwathy fell in love with their work.
For the outfits, inspired by North-India, the couple wore color-coordinated clothes. The groom wore a bright red Sherwani and looked dapper in it. As for the bride, a beautiful red lehenga with golden handwork on it was seen. She accessorized with a traditional gold necklace paired with earrings and completed the entire look with a gorgeous and elegant Maang-tikka. The hair and make-up were done by Ibrahim and Vijay Raghavan, Chennai based make-up artists. The couple looked absolutely magnificent together. They truly complimented each other in every possible sense.
Well there’s something about us Indians, we have always dreamt about some dramatic and filmy wedding, right?! We just love to celebrate our special day, the ‘filmy way’! The same followed for Ashwathy and Abhilash. The iconic duo, along with cousins and close friends developed a music video! Everyone lip-synced and shook their legs to the popular ‘Im a Mallu’ number, originally released by Rinosh George, a Bangalorean. Within days, the video went viral, everyone fancied the exhilarating video. The lip-dub idea was presented by Divya Warrier who is a Bombay based choreographer and happens to be Ashwathy’s sister as well. The brilliant photography and videography were done by SDS Studios.
Be it the decoration, music, food, or even the people around, it was an enjoyable wedding. The bride and groom were total charmers, they looked adorable together and their performance absolutely stole the show!
