Priyanka Chopra, the famous “Desi girl” of Bollywood, started her career in the film industry shortly after she won the Miss World beauty pageant in 2000. In the last 20 years of her career, she has achieved what very few Bollywood stars manage to accomplish – to raise beyond Bollywood and become a global celebrity.
In 2018, Nick Jonas an American singer and actor proposed to Priyanka Chopra and they made their relationship official. After the official confirmation of their engagement, a lot of speculation began about their wedding venue and many people believed that the venue would mostly be in the US. The couple then revealed that the wedding venue was going to be the Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur. The ‘Desi Girl’ had made her decision of getting married like a royal princess and had undoubtedly picked the right venue for her dream wedding.
The management of the Taj Umaid Bhawan palace put in their best efforts to create the ambiance that the couple desired for every wedding event, be it the pre-wedding ceremonies like ‘Mehendi’(Check out our blog on the Mehendi function here) or the ‘Sangeet’ (Check out our blog on the Sangeet function here), they had done a great job at making the necessary arrangements to provide the perfect picturesque background!

For each event, Priyanka and Nick made sure that they added their twist to every wedding ceremony to celebrate the amalgamation of two different cultures and backgrounds. This was the motivation behind the two-day wedding ceremony that celebrated their union through two different cultures and traditions.
On December 1, 2018, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas got married in a Christian wedding ceremony and the wedding was officiated by Nick Jonas’s father Paul Kevin Jonas Sr, who is a pastor. The wedding was lavish, dreamy, and surreal to say the least. The bride and groom wore outfits designed by Ralph Lauren. Priyanka Chopra’s wedding gown at the very outset looked exquisite and as she walked down the aisle with a 75-foot long veil in the picturesque background of the palace, the entire scene looked magical.

Though it was the veil and the dress that garnered a lot of awe and attention, to Priyanka it was the minute details like the words “Hope, family, love, compassion” and the full name of Nick Jonas, her parents as well as the wedding date that was sewn in her outfit that made a lot of difference. The wedding cake was 18-foot-tall and looked like a palace with arches, pillars and a golden dome much more like the real palace they got married in!
