Amongst the classiest affairs of 2017, the Tollywood actors Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu got married in a dreamy destination wedding in Goa around October 6th–8th. Samantha and Chay’s wedding were one of the most anticipated events of the year in the industry and the excitement around this adorable couple’s wedding was increasing with every passing hour. Well, there are various reasons for that.
The Hype
The couple had booked an exquisite resort for their D-Day where the total cost for their wedding went up to Rs 10 crore approximately. Barely 3 km from Anjuna Beach, their exclusive place for this event lies, the Vagator Beach Resort, W Goa, a cliff-hanging secluded setting surrounded by its spectacular scenery and dappled glows of sunshine. A vivaciously designed private seaside accommodations, a luxury boutique resort, a sensational art scintillating dining throughout the personalised exquisite beach bars. It is said for the place that while you are only minutes away from anywhere you have to be…we say what we feel here in Goa i.e. “SUSEGAD – Take it easy!”.
Back to the story, the two met when they shot together their film, Ye Maya Chesave, which turned out to be super successful which was when, the rumours had started floating that their friendship had started doing the rounds and it was not until quite recently that they announced their relationship and shortly after and got engaged in a fairy-tale-like ceremony.
For the guest list, it had the who’s who of the Tollywood Industry like Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu, Prabhas, Jr NTR, Rana Daggubati, Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, and Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
Any other eminent personalities. A specially chartered flight was also arranged for some of the special invitees where they were flown to Goa from Hyderabad. A source, in a statement to a leading daily, said, “It sure might seem like an intimate affair but the family is huge and with so many important people to invite, nearly 150 families have been sent the invitations. Since the event is happening away from the city, it’s possible that some celebrities will not be able to make it due to either their shoot schedules or prior commitments. They will, however, make it to the reception which is being planned in Hyderabad.”
The Events Rolling

The wedding ceremony took place at the Vagator Beach, Goa and post our analysis, it looked like the mehandi ceremony took place around 3 pm whereas the Hindu wedding took place post around 11.30 pm. The flavour of the Hindu wedding was a notch more traditional with the smell of Haldi and Phool malas in the air. The traditional beige and gold saree worn by Samantha is originally of Naga’s grandmothers. Samantha’s wedding ensemble was designed by Kresha Bajaj under her love story lehenga catalogue by Koecsh. The lehenga Samantha donned on her wedding day was crafted using a combination of aari and zardozi embroidery techniques. Kresha had also designed the sari Samantha wore on her engagement ceremony and had also weaved Naga-Samantha’s timeline on the same.
The Fine Wine
Samantha hand-picked the best moments from her destination wedding to fill up her wedding album making it sweet, spicy, and everything nice. For the Christian wedding, Samantha walked the aisle in an embellished gown from the studios of the designer by Kresha, who had also designed the actress’s reception outfit. A romantic Samantha wore her heart on her sleeve, as if her wedding dress embellished their love story. A suited Naga Chaitanya also complemented the bride in style.
For the part we know that a couple, who also loves traveling and exploring had finally zeroed in on a place after a month. A close source said, “Chay and Samantha have a long itinerary in place. They are going on a holiday for around 40 days, but they may extend it to two months. As much as they want time together, they respect their work commitments too.” The couple wants this trip to be special because it will be their first as a man and wife.
