Nick Jonas, an American singer, and actor got engaged to the ‘Desi Girl’ of Bollywood Priyanka Chopra on July 18, 2018. Following an official announcement about this by the couple, several media reports were released about the two celebrities and their relationship, timeline of events in their relationship, and they also speculated when and where the wedding would be.
While most of them speculated that there would be a grand wedding in the US where Priyanka Chopra spent most of her time on her Hollywood projects, some of them also believed that the wedding would be in India. The couple put an end to all the speculations by announcing that their wedding would be in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India. The venue that they had chosen for their wedding was the Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur.

The couple spent around Rs3-crore for the venue alone and booked it for the entire duration of the event. Among the 225 guests who attended the ceremonies at the Palace was the Ambani’s, Ralph Lauren, Hollywood stars like Dwayne Johnson, Lupita Nyong’o, Kelly Ripa etc along with the families of the couple which included Nick Jonas brother, Joe Jonas and Game-of-thrones actor Sophie Turner, Priyanka Chopra’s sister Parineeti Chopra, etc.
The pre-wedding ceremonies and the wedding was scheduled to take place at the same venue. This blog will talk about couple’s ‘Mehendi’ function that took place on November 29, 2018. Priyanka Chopra’s mehendi dress was too perfect to not obsess over. She wore a multi-coloured lehenga along with heirloom ruby jewellery by the label Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla while Nick wore an aqua bakhiya kurta of the same designer label. The pic showing Priyanka Chopra dance around in her lehenga with the palace in the background looks like a scene straight out of a period movie shot in a palace!

The other images taken during the Priyanka Chopra’s Mehendi ceremony are also beautiful and depict the happiness of the couple and the guests who were a part of the celebration. Priyanka Chopra’s sister Parineeti Chopra who is also a Bollywood celebrity spoke about the ‘Jootha Chuppai’ game that they had played with Nick Jonas.
This is a traditional game in some Hindu weddings where the bride’s sisters hide the groom’s footwear and the groom has to give them money or gift to retrieve it back. Parineeti commented that Nick Jonas had completely surprised them by giving them one diamond ring each!
